Mary Jacobs Jones

Mary Jones is a Partner with The New Teacher Project (TNTP). Her work with TNTP focuses on education talent management, including support for teacher recruitment and retention for large urban districts and CMOs, the implementation of teacher evaluation systems and targeted academic coaching and feedback for teachers and school leaders. During her time with TNTP, Mary has trained state employees, district superintendents, central office staff, principals, and teachers. She has also advised the state on the implementation and monitoring of teacher evaluation systems and supported Louisiana’s evaluation and compensation reform efforts. Prior to joining TNTP, Mary worked for WestEd and collaborated with state departments in Kansas, Nevada and Pennsylvania on standards alignment and assessment. Mary started her career as a high school English teacher, mentor teacher and a Fulbright scholar. Mary holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Public Policy from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from San Francisco State University.
