Michel A. Pean

Michel A. Pean, PhD. is a native of Haiti. He attended Lycee Antenor Firmin in Port-Au-Prince where he graduated high school. He studied at the University of Bordeaux, France, at Suffolk University, Massachusetts and at Boston College where he received his Ph.D. in French Literature. He taught French Literature at Boston College and at Quisqueya University in Haiti.

From 2007 to 2011 he was the Haitian Secretary of State for the Integration of Disabled Persons. Since 1987, Dr. Pean has served as the National Coordinator for the Société Haïtienne d\‘Aide aux Aveugles- SHAA (Haitian Society for the Blind). He received extensive training at The Caribbean Council For The Blind in rehabilitation and inclusive education. He is married with children and grandchildren.
