Meet the team

Founded in an effort to permanently bridge the gap of support for the Haitian community, JCLI and its team focuses on improving the quality of life and future opportunities for persons with disabilities in Haiti. Our Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and many committed volunteers bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and dedication to all our initiatives in Haiti.

Tom Landry II

Founder & Executive Director

Tom has been volunteering in Haiti since the earthquake in 2010. Over the past 9 years, Tom’s philanthropic work has taken him on nearly 75 trips to Port-au- Prince, Gram the, Jacmel, Léogâne, Cabaret, St-Henri, Saint-Marc, Cap-Haitien and the surrounding countryside, with him currently spending 10 days a month in Haiti overseeing JCLI’s initiatives.

Tom founded campJacob in 2011 and was instrumental in its success for the first three years under the umbrella of another organization. The residents of St. Vincent’s Center for Handicapped Children in Port-au- Prince moved him in such a way that in 2014, Tom decided to found Jacob’s Color Link Initiative (“JCLI”), an organization specifically targeting the futures of these remarkable youth. Since that time, campJacob has grown exponentially and now includes youth from other communities in and around the Port-au-Prince region. Under Tom’s direction in 2016, JCLI has applied for official recognition as a Haitian non-governmental organization. Currently, Tom is spearheading the launch of an early childhood program for children who are blind or Deaf/deaf in the Port-au- Prince region. Lekòl Nou (‘Our School’ in Kreyol) will also provide special needs teacher training, a first of its kind in Haiti.

Tom’s passion for humanity is steeped in his desire to see persons with disabilities be given the opportunity to live their lives in dignity and to their fullest potential. He has a vast knowledge of Haiti and its culture, working tirelessly with other NGOs, governmental organizations and charities for the betterment of persons with disabilities throughout Haiti. Tom is optimistic about their future in Haitian society in part due to JCLI’s long-term programs and initiatives.
